Term 3 Newsletter

Hello Parents/Guardians,

We have had a very busy and exciting term! We began exploring The Twits by Roald Dahl,
investigating his style of writing and began planning our own chapter for the book. For Geography
we have researched effective waste management and the three Rs: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle! We
have even been working on maintaining the compost bin near our classroom- with some success. As
scientists in 4A, we have been exploring materials and their properties, and questioned the purpose
of various objects. Can you guess how many dictionaries a green shopping bag can hold?

During the term we have also become Etymologists,

researching the origins of our spelling words and have
begun building a colourful word wall! We certainly have
some eager spellers in the class who have loved the
tasks! In our mathematical thinking, we have investigated
the multiplying of double digit and single digit numbers,
division, chance, mapping and graphing.

Our year 4 camp was surely an adventure for all! We left our
comfort zones and truly became problem solvers, as we
canoed, built rafts and completed a huge range of group
activities. Kinchant Dam was an exciting, cold and memorable
experience!

The Classroom Kindness Wreath has

had some wonderful additions to it
and it is almost half way filled! When a kind deed, helpful act or positive
peer encouragement is noticed, a piece of ribbon is tied onto the wreath.
The goal is that once it is filled we can have a class party! We can do it!!

Thank you to everyones efforts in 4A this term and I look forward to seeing you all in Term 4, for
even more excitement and learning!

Kind Regards,

Miss Jesshope.
