ABSTRACT

The survey aimed at implementing training programs for care mothers on basic
motor skills and childrens learning process at Alberto Rabell Simoncito" (early
education center) in Antonio pinto Salinas Municipality, Mrida State. In
methodological terms, it was based on a qualitative paradigm; there was a
participatory action research supported by a descriptive research too. The
technique for data collection was the interview and direct observation. Ten (10)
care mothers were interviewed and asked twelve (12) open questions. Direct
observation (having the same number of indicators) was carried out during the
course of data collection. Once data was collected and analyzed qualitatively, it
finally brought to light the following conclusion: care mothers lack general
knowledge on basic motor skills in children of early education. This fact
provided the grounds for the design of a series of actions oriented to training
care mothers and enhancing the development of childrens basic motor skills.
Awareness-raising sessions, training on theoretical aspects of motor skills,
planning and execution of pedagogical experiences were among the
instructional actions implemented to care mothers. As soon as these actions
were put into effect, care mothers managed to gain knowledge and abilities to
provide children with more effective care. Various suggestions were finally
made; these ones aimed at optimizing care mothers training and service in
relation to motor skills.
