MOTO X SPORT DESCRIPTION

Monster Energy Best Trick 10 Riders


The Monster Energy Best Trick competition returns to X Games for the first time since 2012. In this Final-
only format, 10 riders will take two runs each and are judged on the overall difficulty and execution of their
trick. Riders attempt a single, one-shot maneuver to earn points from the judges and cheers from the
fans. The greater score of the two jumps is their final score.

Best Whip 10 Riders
In Best Whip, riders showcase their ability to throw a 250-pound machine sideways and bring it back with
style. In Round One, 10 riders will take as many runs as they can within the six-minute session attempting
to execute their best and most stylish whip. Athletes will be judged based on overall impression. The top
five riders will advance to the Final, where they will have a five-minute jam to throw their best whip. The
Final is 100 percent fan-judged and their best attempt is voted on via tweets.

Coors Light Freestyle 10 Riders
Returning after a one-year hiatus from X Games Austin, Moto X Freestyle will feature 10 riders linking
their best freestyle tricks in a 75-second run. In the Final-only format, riders tackle a complex dirt course
made up of a variety of different jumps - some dirt, some metal which challenge overall riding skills
while integrating tricks throughout their overall run. Scoring is based on overall impression, tricks,
execution, style, use of the course and landings.

Harley-Davison Flat-Track Racing 24 Riders
In Harley-Davison Flat-Track Racing, motorcycle racers compete against one another on an oval dirt track
3/8 of mile and longer, aboard twin-engine motorcycles at speeds reaching up to 100mph. Racers hurl
themselves sideways into turns where their handlebars are within inches of each other and often several
riders abreast. The main event features 12 racers competing for 20 laps.

QuarterPipe 8 Riders
QuarterPipe is the newest FMX discipline that utilizes a metal freestyle ramp take-off set side by side with
a dirt landing. Riders take off and re-enter on the same wall providing them with a new way to innovate
tricks. In this Final-only format, each of the eight riders will get two opportunities to present their best trick.
Scoring is based on overall impression, style, execution, landing and creativity of trick.

LifeProof Step Up 8 Riders
In this Final-only format, each of the eight riders line up 30 feet from a near vertical wall of dirt and have
two attempts to clear the Step Up bar at each height. If a rider knocks the bar to the ground in the first
attempt, that rider has one additional chance to clear the bar at that height or be eliminated. After each
round, the bar is raised in increments determined by the competition director, and the entire process is
repeated until one winner is determined.
