MODULE

TITLE: Introduction of the Different Kinds of Lines

OVERVIEW: The purpose of this activity is to enhance/develop the motor skills (particularly the
hands) of children by introducing the manipulation of pencils and crayons well enough to write
and color lines. At the same time, the child will be able to learn how to draw lines.

OBJECTIVE: After successful completion of this module, each child should be able to:

1. Have a firm grasp of pencil and crayon;

2. Hold the pencil and crayon appropriately;

3. To copy the lines introduced by the Facilitator;

4. To be able to draw lines independently and confidently.

MATERIALS:

1) Pencils and crayons;

2) colourful sample drawing of lines (one each start from the simplest line first)

3) paper for child to write;

TIME FRAME: One (1) hour each day until such time that the child can independently and
confidently write or draw the different kinds of lines introduced.
ACTIVITIES:

1. The following lines are to be introduced to children, arranged accordingly:

2. The Facilitator prepares a colorful drawing of each line for the children to copy;

3. The Facilitator introduces the first simple line by showing the drawing and describing it as a
horizontal, vertical line as the case maybe;

4. The Facilitator encourages the children to copy the line shown to them;

5. After distributing the papers and pencils to the children, the facilitator demonstrates the
proper handling of the pencil or crayon;

6. Facilitator starts to demonstrate how to draw the line individually;

7. Facilitator sees to it that a child draws the line as many as he desires and be made perfect at
the last drawing;

8. After the first line introduced was drawn or written perfectly by the children, the next line
maybe introduced and so on.

PROCESSING:

At the end of the module, the Facilitator shall give instruction to the children to draw all the
lines taught to them. He/she gives the specific line to be written or drawn by the children. Any
imperfect line written shall be reviewed or rewritten for perfection.

The accomplished work shall be shown to parents.
