A poem about transition

Crossed the long illness - the ocrean

Threw off their clothes - symbolic gesture/cicadas shedding teir skin and
emerging as new
Danced like sandflies
Left behind cities rotting with cholera our civilised distinction
Entered a large darkness

Double alienation
Speaks of the immigrants in the third person does not associate herself with
them

About the joy of arrival

Threw off their clothes
Danced like sandflies
Left behind rotting cities, disease, distinctions
