What Types of Meeting Are There in A Company-OrALWAY
The objective of this report is to know about the different types of meetings and then choose the
right Type of Meeting for particular Circumstances. A meeting therefore, can be defined as a lawful
association, or assembly of two or more persons by previous notice for transacting some business.
There are also three types of meetings such as, Shareholders meeting, Directors meeting and
Special meeting.
Firstly, Shareholders meeting is when the meeting is held with the shareholders of the company
it is called shareholders meeting. It is classified into three parts. For example, Statutory meeting,
Annual general meeting and Extra-ordinary general meeting. These generally held once a year.
Secondly, Directors meeting is when the meeting is held among the directors of the company it
is called directors meeting. Such as, Board meeting and Committee meeting.
Finally, Special meeting is for any special situation, when the meeting is arranged by the company,
it is called special meeting. For instance: Class-meeting and Creditors meeting.
From my point of view, a company meetings are an important element of business management.
In addition to this, When meetings are planned well and run correctly, they can be very
productive. When they are not, they can be a waste of time and an annoyance. Either way, it is
important to know about the different types of meetings and what to expect from each.
