IP Schema Standardisation

The document provides an IP address allocation schema for branch and office networks, assigning IP addresses from 10.x.x.1 to 10.x.x.254 to different network devices like routers, ATMs, servers, videoconference units, switches, IP phones, and PC nodes, with each group assigned a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0. It notes that IP addresses for existing ATMs and nodes will not change but IP phones in branches with MPLS may be reassigned when an engineer visits. Branch networks are instructed to follow this IP address allocation pattern.

IP Address Allocation

In order to streamline further in IP addressing, we furnish the standarised IP

schema hereunder.

For Branch / offices Network:

Sl No. Description Ip address Subnet Mask

1 Router Ethernet 10.x.x.1 to 10.x.x.4 255.255.255.0

2 ATM 10.x.x.5 to 10.x.x.9 255.255.255.0
3 Servers 10.x.x.10 to 10.x.x.18 255.255.255.0
4 Videoconference Unit 10.x.x.19 255.255.255.0
5 Switch 10.x.x.20 to 10.x.x.29 255.255.255.0
6 IP Phone 10.x.x.30 to 10.x.x.50 255.255.255.0
7 PC Nodes 10.x.x.51 to 10.x.x.254 255.255.255.0

There is no change to any of the IPs in nodes / ATMs. The branches where the
IP phones are already installed and the branch is commissioned under MPLS, in
such cases the IP address of the IP phone will undergo change. The same can
be made on visit of the HCL COMNET engneer to the branch. Till such time the
Ip phones will work in the present IP address.

We request you to strictly follow the above pattern to allocate the IP addresses to
the network equipments in the branches under your region. In case of any
clarification in this regard please revert to us.
