The Praxis Series Lesson Plan

Objective:

To inform all individuals entering the teaching profession about the series of tests that are
required for licensing and certification processes. Develop further knowledge on how to make
study guides, practice tests, and tips to help students prepare for a Praxis test. Help design and
create ideas on the Praxis Core Test Structure. Inform that these tests are required by many
states and professional licensing organizations.

Materials/equipment:

Lecture, demonstrate, explain, and instruct thru PowerPoints, handouts, and activity sheets.

Instruction:

Modeling and show what I will be discussing. Checks for Understanding--watch faces, ask
questions. Help students start practicing new skills, and applying new knowledge. To name and
list subject areas students will need to focus on when preparing to take these tests.

Discuss:

Involve the class in learning the lesson:

A. What is the praxis?

B. Who takes the tests, why, and where?

C. Which test students need to take.

D. The Praxis Core Academics skills.

E. How students can prepare to take these tests.

Closing:

Evaluation of what we learned. Review materials to help students understand and reflect on
what the Praxis Core tests are. Extend understanding on students with a satisfactory progress.
Repeat and review again with activity sheets.
