Mentawai Islands are included in disaster-prone areas, such as earthquakes, tsunamis, coastal erosion

and landslide. The disaster-prone areas, especially earthquakes can be mapped, so it can be known
areas which are prone to high, medium or low. The purpose of this study to determine which areas in
the Mentawai Islands are prone to earthquakes of high, medium and low. GIS technology can be used in
this research, that is by doing "superimpose" of some parameters or sub factor after scoring and
weighting. From the results of this mapping is known that the Mentawai Islands regency region which
consists of the island of Siberut, Sipora Island, and Pagai Island(North and South), most of the region
with a moderate impact. The area with low vulnerability are the west coast and the north western part
of the island of Siberut. The regions with high vulnerability found along the east coast of North and
South Pagai Island, a small part east coast of the northern island of Sipora, and a small part the east
coast the northern Siberut island .
