categories:

Flat shapes
Solid shapes
Bidimensional Shapes
The four basic flat shapes are circle,
triangle, square and rectangle.
It is round. It does not
have any corner points

It has three sides.

Solid Shapes
Faces

Consider a wooden box. A wooden

box is bounded by 6 rectangular
faces.

We know that rectangles are flat

shapes.

So, face is the flat part of the solid.

Edges

Consider the wooden box shown

above.

Each face meets with the other face

by a straight line.

So, the line where the two faces

join is called as edge.
Vertices
The points of intersection of the edges
of the solid shapes are called vertices.

A Cube, for example, has 8 vertices.

A cube has

Number of faces: 6
Number of edges: 12
Number of vertices: 8
