Today, well, if nothing else, was a reinforcement of the fact that why compartmentalization in
life works very well for me. It started off rather nice as I drove down to Delhi to have some fun
for Christmas Eve. I arrived at Teerths flat around 11 am, and we ordered some bacon burgers
for lunch. Then, I thought I would invite my friend Rex over as he is really good company, or so I
thought. Around 4, Rex came over, I introduced them and went out for a couple of hours. I
came back around 7 and they were both sloshed, getting along well, I thought. So around 8 we
went out to get some food and somethinghappened. As we showed ourselves out the door,
Teerth turned on the fan at the entrance and at that same instant, a pigeon bolted and hit the
moving fan and bled to its death within a minute. Rex and Teerth started screaming rather loud
and in an attempt to lighten the mood I picked up the pigeon and said, Curry banaye?. Did
not help. Well, we came back with some good food and alcohol. The night got better, we were
watching Brooklyn 99 and then Rex went into the loo. A minute later he starts screaming,
Teerth and I rush to the washroom and the basin was on the floor with shards of ceramic
everywhere. Oh and also, Teerth moved into this flat 2 days ago, so the fact that the basin was
broken in 2 days, didnt bode well with them. Rex felt guilty, Teerth was angry and I just felt
stupid for intertwining two separate parts of my life. But then we laughed it off, drank some
more and slept.
