Furthermore, soon after the supposed death of Sanskrit, namely in 1835, Indians were by law allowed to own machines for
printing and this produced an enormous boost in literary activity in perhaps all Indian languages including Sanskrit.
Henneder (ibid) p.299

Whatever the outcome of this problem, it is possible to demonstrate my point that the present
state of research does not permit conclusions from supposedly negative evidence. Henneder,
p.306

Pollock was not aware of books published in Sanskrit such as Sivarajavijaya written by
AmbikadattaVyasa in 1870, Kartavryodaya, an impressive and voluminous
Mahakavya by the Nepalese Pandit Sukr.tidatta Panta (1823/41873). Henneder, p. 308

Pollock is not aware of Swarajya Gita, Pandita Kshma Rao (1931). Henneder, p. 309

Many Sanskrit works of the nineteenth and twentieth century share this fate; some were
studied in India, but were almost completely ignored by Western Indology, Henneder, p.308.

17. Was Sanskrit Oppressor? - see some of the above references.

These references clearly show Sheldon Pollock was either ignorant of or ignored the excellent Sanskrit works produced in
18th, 19th and 20th centuries before he pronounced the death of Sanskrit Language. He made false accusations that
Sanskrit suppressed some classes, that Sanskrit was responsible for Nazis and that Sanskrit was not sacred. A scholar
who ignores evidence wantonly to suit his prejudices and denigrates a great Language and through that a great Religion
and through this a great democracy does not deserve Padma Sree award from Indian Government. Why would Indian
Government want to award a person who insults India?
