According to the picture above, the filter paper filtered the charcoal out of the solution.

The charcoal is filtered out of the filter paper because the particles of the charcoal are big thus it is filtered.
The presence of charcoal in the filter paper is verified because it had an amount of black particles. As you
can see below, the filtrate is clear and it has small amount of charcoal particles. The filter paper acts as a
semi permeable membrane that filters out unwanted particles inside a cell. It is considered as filtration
because we used gravity in pouring the solution into the filter paper. When the Lugols iodine was poured
into the solution it didnt turn blue black because there was no starch in the solution. It means that the
filter paper also filtered the starch in the solution.
