ABSTRACT

This research aimed to: determine the presence of Burnout syndrome in medical residents
graduate trainees Hospital Dr. Luis Razetti, Barinas Municipality, Barinas state, in the
months of May to August 2016. The type and design of the study was : From field, not
experimental, and descriptive. With a population of eighty-five (85) medical residents and
was sampled seventy-eight (78) to be present at the time of the application of the test
corresponding to the SDP Professional Wasting Syndrome (version D`Anello 2001) its
three dimensions: emotional exhaustion (AE), depersonalization (D) and Lack of
Professional Accomplishment (FRP) report containing 22 items. The results concluded: Of
the 78 physicians who participated in the test 65.4% represents the female sex, 64.10%
corresponds to a population of between 25 to 29 years, young considered. A 65.82% reside
in the Barinas state. Related to the presence or absence of burnout syndrome in three
dimensions: emotional exhaustion 38 doctors with some symptoms, 30 with presence of
clinical symptoms and 5 clinical symptoms for a total of 73 doctors, depersonalization
dimension 41 doctors some symptoms 2 with presence of clinical symptoms and 1 with
clinical symptoms and lack of professional achievement in 34 doctors some symptoms,
especially in medical residents enrolled in graduate childcare and pediatrics and
gynecology and obstetrics.
