1. Profile: Maruti Suzuki India Limited, formerly known as Maruti Udyog Limited, is an
automobile manufacturer in India. It is a 54.2%-owned subsidiary of Japanese
automobile and motorcycle manufacturer Suzuki Motor Corporation. Maruti Suzuki
started out in 1982 in Gurgaon, Haryana. Today, Maruti Suzuki alone makes 1.5
million family cars every year. It has two manufacturing sites: Gurgaon spread over
300 acres with 3 fully integrated plants and a capacity of about 9 lakhs cars (mostly
K-series engine cars) and the other one is at Manesar spreads over 600 acres with
the overall capacity of about 6 lakhs (mostly diesel engine cars).

1. Profile: Tata Motors Limited is an Indian multinational automotive manufacturing
company headquartered in Mumbai, India. Its products include passenger cars,
trucks, vans, coaches, buses, sports cars, construction equipment and military
vehicles. Tata Motors has auto manufacturing and assembly plants
in Jamshedpur, Pantnagar, Lucknow, Sanand, Dharwad, and Pune in India. It has

Korean truck manufacturer Daewoo Commercial Vehicles Company in 2004 and
purchased Jaguar Land Rover from Ford in 2008.
