Consonant Cards

These cards are designed to help your child identify the begin-
ning consonant sound in words. There are 3 pictures provided
for each consonant (with the exception of x - only one).

Print the sheets, cut and then laminate to make them more
sturdy for younger children.

Match the pictures to their beginning letter sound. You can also
use the picture cards to practice identifying objects with your
child.

Be sure to download the Short Vowel Picture Cards and Long


Vowel Picture Cards as well.

B - bell, ball, butterfly Q - queen, quilt, quarter


C - cactus, cake, carrots R - rabbit, ring, roses
D - donuts, dog, duck S - snail, scissors, snake

F - fishbowl, frog, fan T - top, toothbrush, train


G - glasses, gloves, grapes V - vine, violin, vegetables
H - hat, hammer, heart W - wagon, watch, whistle

J - jump rope, jack-in-the-box, X - xylophone


jellybeans Y - yarn, yo-yo, yawn
K - keys, kiwi, kitten Z - zebra, zipper, zucchini
L - lamp, light bulb, leaf

M - milk, mouse, mittens


N - nuts, necklace, nail polish
P - paintbrush, pie, popcorn
