Sam’s Thirteenth Annual End of the Year Spiel Hello Everyone, hope you enjoy looking through this year’s serapbook. I ‘want to thank all the students who worked hard in bringing it to you. When Tstarted teaching thirteen years ago I wanted to create something like this every year. Then I realized how uch hard work itis and decided to create a class and let them do all of it! Ido want every student to have some input on every yearbook, so if you want to work on next years you can join a Computer Literacy class in either semester, or Publishing Workshop during second semester. Of course 1 like to have fun in all of my classes. If we didn’t have fun while we were learning everyday, T know I couldn't make it out of bed. I want to thank those of you who also made it to school almost everyday and came prepared to work, You make my job easy. Of course not everyday at Sawdon is a walk in the park. We have our struggles with getting here on time, staying away from bad choices, family life and jobs. We squabble with each other. Some become boyfriends and girlfriends and of course Ex’s. There are cliques formed even though you tell me you hate them. But we deal with these struggles as they come, Those ‘who can put aside those personal issues and concentrate on school move on quickly. Others have to stay a bit longer or find another program that fits better, Thope I have been able to help you overcome some of your personal struggles. I hope I have been able to teach you something, even ifit ‘wasn’t in my lesson plan for the day. know Tleamn from all of you everyday. Fearn more and more what is needed to treat others with respect, kindness and of course discipline when needed. .}) To those of you going into the armed services, thank you for taking the risks needed to keep a free society free. But please take care of yourselves. For all of you graduating, the next step is actually your first step in a new race. You aren’t done yet. Getting your diploma ot GED is just your ticket to get in, not the finish line. Work hard and try to remember what we taught you about respect, kindness and discipline. Itis self-discipline that has helped you graduating seniors finally get through. You have gotten past the car troubles, drug issucs, laziness, and other brick walls that had been slowing you down, You know now the success you can achieve when you dedicate yourself to a goal. Neverforget that. Use that knowledge and experience to chase any goal you want. Please drop by every ence in awhile to let us know what sort of progress you are making to- ‘wards your goals. Seeing your success keeps all of us teachers and staff going, especially at those times when all we see are students still struggling, To those of you coming back, please stay safe.
