Penal %mons * 413 the Central Government may establish or recognise one or more laboratories or institutes as environmental laboratories to carry on the functions entrusted to it. The government may, as per the provisions of Section 13, appoint such persons having prescribed qualifications as government analyst for the purpose of analysis of samples of air, water, soil or other substances sent for analysis to the environmental laboratory. PENAL PROVISIONS Section 15 of the Actprovides for penalty for the con travention of the provisions of the Act.
