INTRODUCTION:

In this activity we will show the importance of the study of locating a Plant or Distribution
Center CEDI of the company SPB
It is very important to make a good study plan, the point that will be located and located the
Plant or the Distribution Center in this way we can know the needs, skills, strength to know
where this organization will be located, with which it can be known If it is to be competitive
in productivity and in service, which can achieve a good resource for the provision of the
service according to the requirements and needs of the client.
To be able to lead a good organization we must keep in mind all the variables and demand
that the field currently requires in the logistics network.
OBJECTIVES:

The main objective is to meet the needs of the customers who are the raison d'tre of the
company, visualizing in the future to further expand the logistics area to respond more
broadly to market behavior worldwide.
To generate greater competitiveness in aspects of improvement in the terms of handling
of receipt and dispatch of the load.
Comply with the requirements in the legal framework of the government
In 2050, to become the number one port in Latin America.

distribution center according to the policies, organizational strategies and
regulations.

For the selection of the place you should consider some models and they are the

Identify the sites for a possible location of a plant or CEDI
CEDI is a technologically equipped facility for receiving, handling, storing, storing and
delivering goods.

GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION

one of the ports of the American continent closest to the Far East.
It is in the center of the world, close to the main sea routes that cross the planet from north
to south and from east to west. Geographic conditions allow it to be a hub and
transhipment port, optimizing the use of large vessels.

Environment
SPB is a service provider, located in the bay of buenaventura. The most important port in
the country, shares this privilege with 2 new competitors, who aspire to have greater
participation in the movement of cargo and are preparing for it, which constitutes a great

SOCIAL RESPONSABILITY

SPB, has established an integrated environmental management plan, where it


controls and monitors the effects of contamination of all types of substances and
chemicals that damage the integrity of people, and the management of the
environment.

manual for procurement and contracting, SARLAFT manual, psychosocial risk
policy.

Social investment policy, for this purpose is the FBIO FABIO GRISALES
FOUNDATION. Its objective is to improve citizen coexistence and community
leadership, such as food programs, sporting, cultural, and general welfare projects,
as well as city investment projects that allow the improvement and beautification of
the urban environment.

QUALITATIVE AND QUANTITATIVE CHANGEABLE


SPB is a strategic point to concentrate the trucks that are going to enter the port, in an
orderly and concerted way.
There are other points of competence, but they do not have the technology and
organization that will have SPB
SPB will have a full place to serve its customers very comfortable for the drivers
representatives of shipping companies and customs agencies which will allow them to be
interacting and therefore more relaxed.
Will have restaurant service, which will allow them to enjoy the necessary food.
A few miles away there are fuel service stations that will allow you to tank your vehicles
before you leave the city, or when you enter it.
There are places such as heavy-duty vehicle repair shops, state-of-the-art vehicle

PATIO COLOMBIA, COLFECAR, SUPERVISION)
there are hospital centers and health posts near the terminal
we find supermarkets and shopping centers in its surroundings.
There is only one road accessable to the point, with exit to the national highway.
We love the mayoralty of buenaventura
We are located close to tourist sites such as (La Bocana, Juan Chaco and Bricklayers,
Cangrejo Island, Pianguita)

SPB there is control and police surveillance, Marine Infantry, captaincy and naval base
which guarantees total tranquility in the sector.
