Read the text below.
‘Samuel and his family chose a homestay at a Malay village when they holidayed in Ke
The festivities began upon their arrival. Along with several other families, they were we
welcomed. A few men played the kompang while several young boys performed silat as
walked into the village.
‘Then, the families were introduced to their foster families. After that, they were led toa s
area near a river. Food was already laid out on several mats. After a hearty meal, Samuel ar
family went to their foster family's house.
The following day, Samuel woke up early. He went outside to look at the river. Some ville
were out in their boats. Samuel hoped he would get to try that. After breakfast, the family
taught how to weave mats and baskets.
Just before 11.30 a.m., Samuel and the other families went to a paddy field. There, a vil
