Question Analyze an Issue:

People who make decisions based on emotion and justify those decisions with logic
afterwards are poor decision makers.

Write a response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree
with the statement and explain your reasoning for the position you take. In
developing and supporting your position, you should consider ways in which the
statement might or might not hold true and explain how these considerations shape
your position.

My Response:

People who make decisions based emotions may or may not be right. The statement is
merited purely on the situation. Doctors cannot be emotional while doing surgery
and justify later. At the same time a girl being chased for life cannot take
decision after considering pros and cons for justification. So the environment
which plays a major role in decision making is important.

Firstly, consider an emotional man who found his friend has betrayed him. In
desperation he takes revenge by killing his friend without even thinking twice.
There can be no justification made for taking a life. In this case the emotion
driven act is absurd. People who make decisions based on emotions are not right
always. Sometimes it turns out to be a poor decision.

Secondly, for doctors there is no place for emotion at all. While at operation with
lasers and highly sharp tools doctors have to be precise and on target. They are
sure about their decisions. No place for errors. If in tension the doctor makes a
wrong call and that is the end of chapter. No place for justification it is a poor
decision. These situations are always premeditated and demands a good decision
making skill.

On the other hand, before the law, decision based on emotion can be justified with
proper evidence. The prison time will get reduced if the reason holds true. These
laws are for people who take decisions while in emotion and later justify their
stand for it. People tend to make emotional mistake by taking a poor decision

Hence, the decision making is purely based on situations. It can be justified if

acceptable. Being wise is far better then being emotional.
