Objectives of Activity
Promote inter-patrol bonding (Camp D., Festival of Light, Combined Cooking) +
reduced emphasis on maintaining standards
Foster healthy competition between patrols in terms of their camp development and
orienteering activity (Patrol-In-Town)
Provide platform for Junior Leadership to take place in pursuit of common goals - allow
for opportunities to let Sec 2s to gain experience and step up

Accommodations

Safekeeping of valuables (GC Room I/C(s))


GC to collect valuables and consent forms promptly at the start of the camp
Valuables will be stored in storage bags labelled with patrol names.
Scouts leaving camp for any period for valid reasons will be returned their valuables,
to be given back for safekeeping when they return to camp (see section:
Leaving/Entering camp)

Scouts who wish to leave/enter camp anytime during the duration of the camp are
required to sign in and out at the GC Room
Valuables will be returned to Scout after signing out, and are to be given back upon
signing in
Time in/out and reason for leaving camp to be recorded on Operations laptop
GS to radio teacher-on-duty before Scout leaves/when Scout returns

Safety

Injuries (First Aid I/C(s)s + GC Room I/C(s))


Equipment
2 First Aid I/C(s)s to carry first aid kits at all times during activities (for
treatment of mild-moderate injuries)
1 first aid kit to be in GC Room (for treatment of moderate-severe injuries)

Reporting
All injuries to be reported via 01 Scouts GC 2017 WhatsApp group
Moderate-Severe injuries to be reported immediately via radio

Treatment
Mild injuries: To be treated on-site by First Aid I/C(s)s. Casualty may be
advised to sit out of next activity
Moderate-Severe Injuries: either a. evacuation to GC room for further
treatment or b. treatment on-site if evacuation is not permissible
Severe Injuries: Teachers to be consulted via radio on the next course of
action
Pioneering (GCs-on-duty)
Helmets are to be worn by Scouts in the vicinity of any erected
structure
A spotter should be present if a Scout is climbing a ladder
No slippers/sandals are to be worn during pioneering or any other
activity (only allowed during Wash up onwards)(see section: Night
Procedures)
All equipment are to be placed back neatly in their proper positions
when not in use
When dismantling structures, no poles are to be thrown down

Day Procedures (STLs)


Flagraising to be conducted at the start of each day
After flag raising, STLs will announce mealtimes and any changes in timing to
programme

Night Procedures (STLs)


After Wash up, STLs to call for a horseshoe
PLs to perform head count and report to STLs
STLs will radio GC Room I/C(s) and check with the nights expected
attendance
STLs will announce lights out timing
Slippers/sandals can be worn only at this time
At lights out timing, all SU are to be in tents and asleep except for Scouts on
sentry duty
GC sentries to conduct 2-hourly inspections to ensure that SU is asleep and that
campsite is tidy
2 GC sentries to be awake in GC room at any time from lights out to next
mornings flag break

Wet Weather (STLs)

0700-0800: Building of flagstaff
Sec3s to build a 3-2-1 flagstaff
0800-0815: Attendance taking and collection of valuables
FS will collect all valuables from each patrol and place them into ziploc bags. The ziploc
bags will be placed in 6 dry bags before being stored in the GC room.
STLs Rohith and Shuen Kai are to record attendance of the SU
PPS Yu Fei to take note of overall SU attendance and notify teachers accordingly

0815-0845: Inspection

0845-1800: Camp development


Lunch is at 1300, food is catered
1800-2230: Patrol in town
Scouts go out in their patrols to eat wherever they want and complete bingo sheet

0730-0800: Morning horseshoe and PT
Morning horseshoe will be at 0730 in the Raja Block Foyer. The GC will check the
conditions of the SU and ensure that they have full water bottles. The cooks will obtain
funds from the FS and proceed to buy ingredients for breakfast.
0800-2000: Camp development
Breakfast is at 0900, cooks to go buy food at 0800. Lunch is at 1300, cooks to go buy
food at 1130. Dinner is at 1830, cooks to go buy food at 1700
2000-2130: Talent show

2130-2300: Stoopid quiz

2300-2359: Wash up and lights out
