Harmony Games 2017

This Harmony Games 2017 was organised by Harmony Centre and held on Saturday, 22
July 2017 at Beatty Secondary School.

The slogan for Harmony Games 2017 is Unity in Diversity, Blessings to Humanity. The
slogan is a deliberate combination of two Latin antonyms, unitas unity, oneness and
varietas variety, variousness. The slogan is fitting for a cultural hotpot that is Singapore and
is a good reminder for Singaporeans to treasure the religious harmony and at the same time
understand Singapores major faiths through games. (quoted from MUIS Fact Sheet, 22
July 2017).

There were 500 participants for this year Harmony Games. They were invited to take part in
team-based games such as Futsal, Frisbee, Captains Ball and Wii Just Dance Tetris. Apart
from the games, an interactive program titled In Conversation: Lets Be Honest featured
representatives from the Skih, Janism and Bahai faiths, sharing some facts about their faiths.

There was also an interactive sharing among interfaith youth leads titled Tell me your
Stories: Helping, Healing and Caring which allowed participants to gain deeper insights and
experiences of the different faiths as practiced in Singapore.

The event ended with Minister Grace Fu giving away Gifts of Blessings to the poor and
needy. Marcus Moo who is the appointed representative from The Salvation Army of
Singapore, a member of NCCS, received the gift with much appreciation.
