various ways. Many experts claim students who are taught by enthusiastic teachers are proven
to have higher academic achievement and enjoy a more positive school environment. An
experiment was conducted to measure if an enthusiastic behavior (including eye contact, facial
enthusiastic behavior and if these behaviors occur sequentially. The subjects were considered
exceptional teachers and were videotaped during two normal class sessions. The researchers
scored the teachers in ten-second snapshots, which was further divided into two-second
intervals. In these two-second intervals, any enthusiastic behaviors were recorded in the order
they occurred. The data indicated the percentages of enthusiastic behaviors that were
observed: vocalization (90.9%), eye contact (76.5%), gestures (66.5%), movement (55.8%), and
facial expression (15.2%). Data also indicated that the most dominant sequential occurrence
