Some metric nuts will be marked with punch mark strength identification on the nut face. Fig OA—5 shows the diferent otrongth markings. When replacingmetric fasteners, be carefulto use bolts, ‘and nul of the same strength or greaterthan theoriginal fasteners(the same number marking or higher). It is likewise important to select replacement fasteners of the corect size With some special exception the ptch of common sized ‘one is as shown in the right table. CAUTION ‘The standard fasteners adopted in this vehicle are bottleneckedup to nominal diameter M8, and narrow necked from M10 and more. In the table, the relation between nominal size and pitchis classified into thebottle necked and narrow necked. Upon replacing the fastener, its | pitch should be confirmed even though itis the same kind of metric fastener.
