Dear Providence Families:

As a follow up to my welcome letter in the eNews, I would like to make you aware of the following
matter. During the summer of 2016, prior to my returning to Providence, the school was made aware of
possible Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) rule violations during the 2015-2016 school
year. After a thorough review, the administrative team did not agree with the FHSAAs findings.

The school submitted documentation to FHSAA, which we believe, substantiates that we did follow the
appropriate guidelines to keep our athletic programs in compliance with the FHSAA. However, due to
the potential long drawn-out process of appeal, which could have included a financial strain on the
schools budget, the decision was to self-report the violations and accept the penalty imposed by the
FHSAA. The alleged violations were related to an impermissible benefit for one varsity athlete and one
junior varsity athlete. The other concern was that the school did not have a written facility usage
agreement with non-Providence teams. The school continues to be a member in good standing with the
FHSAA.

FHSAA agrees that Providence School has fully cooperated with their review and recognizes that the
school has a great history with their organization. Both organizations will continue to develop a strong
working relationship. If you have any questions or concerns, please dont hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,

Don Barfield
Head of School
