How much/ How many?

We use How much to ask about the quantity of uncountable nous(e.g

How much coffee have we got left?) , but we use How many to ask about
countable nouns(e.g. How many tomatoes are there in the fridge?)

How much / How many ?

. potatoes are there in the basket?

. sugar would you like in your coffee?

ice-creams should I buy?

. rice can I put in the soup?

Some and any

Some and any can be used both with countable and uncountable nouns.
Some can only be used in affirmative sentences(eg. Weve got some bread
left) while any can be used in negative and interrogative sentences(Is
there any bread left?/ there isnt any bread left).

Be careful! Some can be used in an interrogative sentence if this is a

polite offer or request(eg. Would you like some biscuits?)
