Moved around a lot as a kid as his dad bounced from league to league as a

professional basketball player. His dad gave him good basketball training while
overseas
and he never had any real friends, just people who liked him because he was a
basketball prodigy. He wanted a way to talk to people without them treating him
differently and he hung out with the nerds because they didn't care about his
basketball. He discovered irc and newsgroups and used the internet and found some
pretty dark places. He had to move away but kept in touch with them online.
