Midterm Evaluation {GRANDNALLEY Teacher Assisting/Student Teaching tant: Kelley Bureroft Name of Cooperating Teacher: Rebecca Perry Provide «brief description of the teacher assistant's/student teacher's performance related tothe InTASC Standards. ‘The Candidate's understanding of the Learmer and Leaming: Learner Development; Learner Differences; and Learning Environments Kelley has shown that she has an understanding of these areas and has gone above and beyond the typical TA role. She is kind, considerate, and well spoken with the students. Kelley Is able to walk students through various issues they may be having with little or no prompting from me. She takes initiative to guide the students in the classroom and the students often seek her out for help or affection! Kelley has worked one-one-one with every student in the classroom by reading book bags or working on letter identification and sounds. She works with small groups of students during center time and has done some whole group instruction on a regular basis. She makes sure to take notes or let me know how individual students are doing academically as well as emotionally. The students have bonded with her and can tell that she really cares about them! The Candidate's understanding of Content: Content Knowledge; Application of Content; Assessment; Planning for Instruction; and Instructional Strategies Kelley immerses herself in the kindergarten curriculum by taking part in all lessons that the students do in the morning, whether it be by walking around and guiding the students as they work or leading some of the instruction herself. Kelley has been exposed to many areas of the kindergarten curriculum while she is with us - mostly ELA and Math, Kelley has pulled individual students and assessed them in various areas (sight word knowledge, letter and letter sound identification, etc.). She is doing well and becoming very familiar with the one-on-one assessment process that early childhood classrooms require! Kelley has helped come up with creative center ideas for the students, however I have not exposed her a great deal on. ‘the planning for instruction and instructional practices pieces (my planning time occurs in the afternoon, and after school hours!).. The Candidate's understanding of Professional Responsibil and Collaboration and Leadership Professional Learning and Ethical Practice; Kelley is extremely professional and hardworking. She is wonderful at dealing with parents and other teachers in the schoo! and has done so often. Kelley understands how each student leams in the classroom and adapts to meet their needs. She has often motivated me to be more patient and caring! Kelley has a wonderful rapport with the students and they ask where she isin the afternoon when they ‘come back from lunch, Kelley has made a postive impression on my teaching partner across the hall, who has noticed how responsible she is. Overall, lam extremely pleased with Kelley! Watching her interact with the students and grow in knowledge has been a pleasure!
