Dear Parents/Guardians,

Hello! My name is Mr.Schutzberger, and I will be your students math teacher this year. I
have lived all over the United States, but was raised, and have lived the majority of my
life here in Albuquerque. I love the climate, culture, and especially the food we have
here in New Mexico. I also enjoy the outdoors and spending time with my family.
I graduated from both, La Cueva high school, and New Mexico State University.
I truly enjoy teaching mathematics. I am very excited, and look forward to all of the
progress we will make this year.

Upon successful completion of this course, your student will meet or exceed 8th grade
math and/or algebra I standards required by APS. Your student will learn and receive
instruction through discovery, questioning, note-taking, lectures, hands-on activities,
textbook reading, and worksheets.

My goals this year, will not only to prepare your student for the high stakes assessment
PARCC and EOC (End of Course Exam), but to prepare them for life. We will learn
many applicable skills such as reasoning, critical thinking and work ethics. I am here to
support, encourage and help your child in any way that I can. I have an open door
policy, so if you have any questions, comments, concerns, or suggestions, please feel
free to contact me at any time (email is probably the best method).

Thank you for trusting me with your student,

Brian Schutzberger
