SUMMER HOLIDAYS HOME WORK 2016-17

ENGLISH Q1. Design a scrap book drawing out a comparative study on Indian and English
writings on Nature. Also state why the author/poet appeals to your sensibilities.
Choose any one Indian and one English author/poet. Make your scrap book creative
and innovative.
Q2. Read the novel The Canterville Ghost and prepare a book review under the
following heads.
Theme

Character
Climax
Which character did you like the most and why?
Note: Ques 2 should be done in the English note book.
MATHS Do all the worksheets from the following chapters :
Chapter 1 : Sets
Chapter 2 : Relations & Functions
Make a Powerpoint presentation on any topic from the above chapters.
PHYSICS 1. Solve worksheet number 2,3,4 in the classwork notebook.
2.Prepare a group project on any topic related to Physics(2 to 3 students in a group).

CHEMISTRY Do worksheets 1 and 3.

Learn names of elements with symbols till atomic number 30.

BIOLOGY Do Worksheets 1 to 4

ACCOUNTANCY Project work:

Instructions:. Students should use A 4 size coloured sheets (one side lining).
Student will prepare a project file to record work related to the problem
attempted in the following format:
1.First Page - title of work , name of the student, name of the school and the
teacher concerned,
2. Index to indicate columns for title of work , page no. Date, teachers remarks
and signature.
3.The format of project work will be:
A Collect the source documents used by business organisations.
B Paste and describe them in brief.

BUSINESS Prepare a case study of 3-4 pages each in which a student will identify the business as
STUDIES Sole Proprietor, JHUF, Partnership, Company and Cooperative Society form of
Business Organisation.
To make best out of field visit, it is a must that the visit is planned during lean
business hours and after seeking all required permissions related to the visit. The visit
should be concluded with a report supported with evidences in the form of
interviews, pictures, questionnaire, etc.
 Suitable places for a field visit could be:

(i) Visit to a handicraft unit.

(ii) Visit to a Factory / Manufacturing unit.
(iii) Visit to a Departmental store.
(iv) Visit to an NGO.
(v) Visit to a Bank.

ECONOMICS 1. Conduct a statistical enquiry on education, employment, sex ratio, income and
expenditure of 20 households in your respective areas. Prepare a report on any two
indicators mentioned above.

2. Prepare a project (using pictures, diagrams and relevant information) on any one of
the following topics:

a).Study of a Cooperative institution (eg. milk cooperatives, marketing cooperatives

etc.)
b).Organic farming
c).Global warming

HISTORY Project work as per CBSE guidelines. Prepare a scrap book on the following topics:
a) Importance of history and branches of history
b) Historical Monuments
c) Cultural heritage of Rajasthan

GEOGRAPHY A) Do the following topics in the practical file

1) Scale
2) Latitude and longitude
3) Contours
B) Do the question banks of the chapters done till now in a separate register.

POLITICAL Make a project on Election System of India and Fundamental Rights

SCIENCE
INFORMATICS Do program no. 1 to 20 in practical file with Index page filled up properly.

MULTIMEDIA Write the Full-form, file type and two features of the following file types (To be done
& WEB in the practical record):

PHYSICAL Project work as per CBSE guidelines. Prepare practical file with any one major game of
EDUCATION your choice and Athletics compulsory.
