- Two gears of what you should be achieving in Court
o Functional
Non partisan officer of the court
o Persuasive
Partisan advocate position to adopt and seeking to have judge adopt that
position
- Tone should vary between these two aims more than one mode of delivery needed
- Need to be prepared to have an array of text in front of you and sometimes should let the
judge read things textual communication can often be better than oral communication
o More precision and accuracy
- Verbally much better at explaining reason and expression
- C.A.S.E copy and steal everything in advocacy if you hear something you like, grab it and
use it within your repertoire
- Words not to use
o Story/version should instead refer to account/case
