sumatra province in indonesia. the population of medan is consisting of diverse ethnic groups: malay,
java, batak, chinese, aceh, minangkabau, tamil, etc. each ethnic group has its own cultural patterns and
different social structures. for visitors, medan is best known as the gateway to north sumatra with
many travellers flying into the city and setting off from here for adventures in the cool highlands of
lake toba or the wild sumatran jungle.

lake toba and berastagi is the most visited holiday destination in medan. you often hesitate or have to
think a thousand times if you want to make a tour or vacation to medan. for example, if there are
halal restaurant in medan? where should i shalat/prayer when prayer time came? are there any hotels

DAY 01: MEDAN LAKE TOBA

arrival at kuala namu international airport (kno) welcome by enjoy holiday medan, then transfer to
local restaurant for lunch (halal food). after lunch, we will rest/solat zuhur at mosque on the way, after
solat, continue the journey to parapat, drive along the beautiful road which offers the endless view of
rubber, palm oil, cocoa plantations and paddy fields. stop at pematang siantar to buy some local
snacks : ting ting, teng teng , kerupuk / crackers etc. arrive in parapat, check in hotel for
accommodation and dinner in parapat (halal food). evening walk and shopping in parapat".

DAY 02: LAKE TOBA - SAMOSIR ISLAND TOUR - BRASTAGI

after breakfast at hotel (halal food), samosir island tour by boat : visit tomok kampung to see the batak
kings tombs / raja sidabutar and ambarita kampung to see the traditional batak village with the stone
court and the execution place / raja sialagan. lunch at local restaurant (halal food) after lunch in
parapat, we will rest/solat zuhur at mosque on the way, after solat, proceed to brastagi, a mountain
resort with its refreshing weather and magnificent scenery which has an abundance of flowers,
vegetables and fruits : visit simarjarunjung / the highest point by lake toba, the ancient kings palace of
batak simalungun / rumah bolon (rumah bolon, or long house of the batak chief. it was built by the xii
chief of the bataks, tuan rahalim. the long house was built of solid teak and stand on twenty poles. the
roof gables are ornately decorated with designs in red, black and white, the traditional batak colours).
next visit to sipiso-piso waterfall. in brastagi visit gundaling hill to see the two active volcanoes in
brastagi : mount sibayak (2.172 m) and mount. sinabung (2.417 m) and pasar buah / fruit market .
check in to the hotel and dinner in brastagi (halal food)" .

DAY 03: BRASTAGI MEDAN - TRANSFER AIRPORT

after breakfast (halal food) morning take the bus ride to medan , city tour and shopping in medan :
visit istana maimoon ( the palace of the sultan of deli, which was built in 1888), grand mosque ( al
mashun grand mosque built in the reign of sultan al rashid perkasa alamsyah mamum of the deli
sultanate, the sultanate of deli land compensation fund that is used as a tobacco plantation area which
was opened by a dutch planter named nienhuys in 1865) , batik house, pusat handbroidery / sulam /
telekung etc and medan mall / sun plaza,transfer to the airport kualanamu,tour ends
