Im Felipe de Souza Araujo, undergraduate researcher at the Laboratory of Immunogenetics, IAM /
Fiocruz-PE, being a member of the group of Professor Norma Lucena-Silva. Im too undergraduate Medicine student at the Federal University of Pernambuco UFPE. Professor Norma Lucena-Silva has worked intensively in immunology research, having published several articles in periodicals, such as Association of HLA-G 3 untranslated region variants with type 1 diabetes mellitus, Human Immunology. Also, she and her group have contributed a lot with other types of publications, we can cite a abstract recently approved at the 49th Congress of the International Society of Paediatric Oncology (SIOP), wich will take place in Washington DC, USA. My work about Acute Myeloid Leukemia is important because its a disease that, despite efforts, still has high mortality and understanding its pathogenesis is fundamental to advance in care. The microRNAs involved in its pathways are viable therapy targets, and some of these are already under study as mir-155. As undergrad student and researcher, the costs are too high for me, but it is a great opportunity to present my work at the Brazilian Society of Immunology Congress and to network with researchers from all over the world.
