ABSTRACT

Technology has influenced various fields of knowledge. It adapts to the needs and

taste of each individual in terms of style, ideas and way of living. These changes led the modern

world into more open and innovative future. An example of which is the ethical issue concerning

literature, which deals with intellectual property of ones literary works and ideas.

As of today, the BSIT Department of Dalubhasaan Ng Lungsod ng Lucena is using

a manual method in checking and monitoring thesis proposal and undergraduate thesis. The

professors and thesis adviser are the ones who check the documents through reading and scanning

the proposed system of the researchers. In the process, some problems may be encountered by the

research advisers in checking the thesis proposal; one of which is plagiarism. In these study the

researcher proposed a system that will easily store and archive, automatically checks, organized

files and display detailed information about the thesis.

The researchers used descriptive method in gathering data and information. This

method was utilized through surveys, interviews with respondent, observation and document

reviews in relation with eThesis: Thesis Anthology of BSIT for DLL in terms in comparing,

checking and organizing Thesis documents or proposal of BSIT students. The gathered data were

analyzed, computed and presented it through graph and tabular form to show the summary of the

researchs findings. Upon conclusions, it has been concluded that; a) the institution is in need of a

better system in checking, monitoring and storing thesis documents; and b) the assessment of the

proposed system in terms of functionality, maintainability, reliability and usability.
