Contemporary Arts and Media Literacy Symposium Excitement was the first word that hit me when I heard somebody that has great experience in the field of art will teach us their styles and strokes in their own perspective. Mga Tagik kag Hulak, one of the most memorable symposiums Ive ever had. The first speakers were from the Panay Bukidnon Ethnic Group which is located at Calinog, Iloilo. They have their own identity which differ them from other Ethnic groups, these examples are the Binukot Tradition and their kind of clothings. The Binukot Tradition secludes a young person with the expectation that seclusion will result in a higher value placed on the individual by marital suitors in the future. But, unfortunately their elders decided to stop the Tradition for some educational reasons. They stopped the tradition because once you are already secluded you cant attend school. Nowadays the Panay Bukidnon Tribe has a lot of Professionals in the different sectors. Some of them already had Doctorals and Masterals. Lastly their last Binukot Maiden already died. Next was the Visual Arts by Mr. Kristoffer George Brasileo. The speaker introduces us to the Visual Arts world. Mr. Brasileo taught us some of his styles on how to start and how to be a better artist. He also answered some of our unanswered thoughts about Visual Arts. Next is Through the Lenses by Mr. Kyle Fermindoza. Mr. Fermindoza taught us the basics of Photography, the meaning of photography, and some of his own styles when it comes to photography. He taught us the friends of the photographer which is the Aperture, Shutter Speed and the ISO. He taught us on how to use and the purpose of these 3 basics of photography. He also taught us which styles of pictures that is good to the peoples eyes. He also lectured the main purpose of the Rule of thirds. I conclude that this kind of symposium changes our perspective in the means of art.
