Youth Program

YOUTH FOR ENVIRONMENT


The EMB Youth Desk is "a one-stop-shop" for the youth seeking information and
consultations on youth and environment/sustainable development matters and a liaison
of EMB to school/non-school/community-based youth organizations, academe, other
government agencies, non-government organizations, local government units and other
youth based institutions.

YOUTH FOR ENVIRONMENT IN SCHOOLS ORGANIZATION


(YES-O)
Deped Order No. 73, Series of 2003 establishes YES-O as the only co-curricular
environmental club or organization in schools.
Last 2011, DepEd issues two (2) orders: DepEd Order No. 52, Series of 2011
(Strengthening Environmental Education in Public and Private Schools) and DepEd
Order No. 93, Series of 2011 (Mandated Programs, Projects and Activities under the
Youth for Environment in Schools Program). Be a member of YES-O now! E-mail them

PHILIPPINE YOUTH ENVIRONMENT NETWORK


PhilYEN is the umbrella network of all youth organizations, individuals and networks
that are either based in or originated from the Philippines who are involved in
environmental and developmental-related advocacies. It is currently connected with
Earth Day Network Philippines, UNEP TUNZA South East Asian Youth Environment
Network (SEAYEN) and Batas Kalikasan Foundation. Recognized by the Department of
Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Environmental Management Bureau
(EMB), Climate Change Commission (CCC) and National Youth Commission (NYC) as
the national youth for environment network in the Philippines.

The said environmental youth network is response to the following: Green Generation
Campaign of Earth Day Network International, UNEP TUNZA Strategy and Republic Act
No. 9512 also known as the National Environmental Awareness and Education Act of
2008.

ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION AND INFORMATION


DIVISION
The Environmental Education and Information Division (EEID) is primarily mandated to
catalyze environmental education in the country, and disseminate information on
environmental and pollution matters to the DENR/EMB regional offices and the general
public.

The EEID is composed of three sections namely: the Environmental Education


Section; the Environmental Information Section; and, the Institutional
Coordination and Documentation.
ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION SECTION
Undertakes programs that will strategically inculcate awareness, understanding, as well
as promote skills, positive attitudes, commitments, and active participation of the
environment, through the integration of environmental concerns in the school system at
all levels, government and private sectors.

INSTITUTIONAL COORDINATION AND


DOCUMENTATION SECTION
Maintains contacts and linkages with various focal points and national/
regional/international organizations, especially the NGOs.
