ICP Motion Pre Assessment

1) Can you explain what speed is? Can you explain what acceleration is?
Speed is how fast something is currently going in a steady pace. Acceleration is the
rate in which something continuously gains more speed over time.

2) What do you know about gravity? Is gravity the same on all planets?
Gravity is the force that allows objects to land and stay on the ground, preventing
them from floating into space. The gravity on each planet is different.

3) If a pencil and a heavy text book are dropped from the roof of Sekolah High Scope at
the same time, which one will hit the ground first? Explain your answer.
The heavy textbook will be the one to first hit the ground, as the textbook has much
more weight, which allows the textbook to fall at a much faster rate due to gravity
pulling it down.

4) Which do you think has more force (power)? A very fast moving bullet or a slow
moving bus?
The bullet has more power, as the force of an object is created the faster something
moves. The bus, has less force due to the fact that it is moving at a slower rate.

5) Can you explain what friction is?

Friction is when 2 surfaces rub together in a constant motion, causing both surfaces
to heat up together.

6) Is there anything you would like to know about gravity, speed or acceleration?
I would like to learn more about the details of each of them better.
