Current Event Launching

For this short assignment you will need to locate a current event article to present about
in class. Below is a checklist for you. Make sure all of this is complete and ready to go on the
date you sign up for.
1. Find an article.
2. Cut it out or print it.
3. Read the article!
4. Highlight or underline important points.
5. Jot down notes or the KEY points in the article. (This should be a short summary of the
article: This is what you read to the class, not the whole article.)).
6. Come up with an amazing Thinking Question to ask the class.
7. Put the notes and the article in your book bag so they come to school and you are ready
to go!

When presenting the article

1. Give the title, author, and source (where you found the article ex. New York Times)
2. Look at the audience and give them key points.
3. Ask if there are any questions.
4. Ask the class your CUE question.
5. You are DONE!
