To assist first-time PSSE users, Siemens PTI is proud to present the PSSE Getting
Started tutorial, now available online. The tutorial is designed to take you step-by-step
through the work flow of building a meaningful network model in PSSE. More than just
showing you how to use PSSE, the tutorial also covers basic power system engineering knowledge
associated with model building.
There are five modules included in the tutorial:
Module 1 Modeling: Edit existing system models or build your own
Module 2 Power Flow Solutions: Solve power flow for your network system
Module 3 Data Checking: Verify power flow data entry
Module 4 Reporting and Visualization: Ensure network conditions and equipment ratings are within
operational limits
Module 5 Process Automation: Speed up your workflow, record and save for sharing or archiving

This tutorial is online and on-demand. Overall lesson time to complete all modules is approximately 2
hours. Take the lessons any time in any location. We recommend you complete Modules 1 and 2 first;
once these are completed you may take the remaining modules in any order.
The tutorial is offered free to all users of PSSE Xpress and PSSE University programs, and to PSSE
32.0.5 users who are current on maintenance and support.
To access the PSSE Getting Started tutorial use one of these two methods:
For PSSE Xpress and PSSE 32.0.5 users select Siemens PTI > PSSE 32 > Getting Started
