Alcohol jar produced by Elliotts & Australian Drug Ltd. Of Sydney, ca 1890s.
It may have been used in local hospitals during the late Spanish period.

The firm of Elliott Bros. was established when three brothers George, Frederick and James Elliott
purchased an established importing, wholesale druggist and dry salting business in Sydney in
1859. The brothers expanded the business to include the manufacture of drugs and chemicals
and the sale of surgical instruments. Elliott Bros, was registered as a public company in 1885. In
1930 Elliott Brothers Limited amalgamated with several other Australian pharmaceutical
companies to create Drug Houses of Australia.

The Spaniards and Australians were and are trading partners and the former may have acquired
these alcohol jars way back the business days of Elliott Bros. These jars may have been brought
by the Spaniards in the Philippines during the Spanish Colonial period and is used in local
hospitals that time.
