Oaks Building Renovations
Completed & Chapel open
Eighteen months of scraping, painting, carpeting,
hammering, hauling, sanding, plastering, repairing and sweating
later, the major work in Oaks of Righteousness' building of North
Troy is completed.
The building features St. Patrick's Chapel as our worship
home, along with two lovely prayer rooms, a toy-filled nursery, a
commercial-sized ministry kitchen, a Godly Play room (see
invitation upper left of this page), an oce/sacristy, a study, an
adult study/hospitality room, and the brand new Oaks Cafe --a
large downstairs outreach center featuring games, a free library,
crafts, and a dining space. The new Oaks also features living
quarters upstairs for up to four clergy, staers, and guests.
We are deeply grateful to the Lord for blessing North Troy
with this building, for providing the money to renovate it, and for
sending a core of extremely dedicated volunteers --as well as
hardworking occasional volunteers -- who showed up week after
week for more than a year to make the building what it is today.

Pentecost Edition 2017
Back to the Park and
Burritos: Mission Update
Burrito Evangelism has returned.
Back in January, we shared our 4-part mission strategy for
2017: 1. Resume Open Cafe to befriend new kids; 2. Finish the
building renovations/chapel (see story above); 3. Launch Kabod
Underground; 4. Resume the neighborhood feeding program. We
are happy to report that all four strategies are in full swing!
Open Cafe re-launched in March. After weeks of few or no
kids, we began to see new faces and to reconnect with kids we
knew from the diner. We've served a lot of burritos, done some
crafts, and made new friends. Some kids have joined us for
Evening Prayer or youth group, which both follow Open Cafe
hours. Praise God!
As part of this outreach, we've also temporarily
discontinued Oaks' Sunday afternoon youth Mass because of lack
of attendance. Instead, we've been using that time to go into the
local park. We've continued to make friends, pray, and evangelize.
We hope the Lord will enable us to build enough interest to re-
launch our Sunday youth Eucharist this fall.
The Kabod Underground, our monthly evening of Taize,
open mic/spoken word, and sung compline, has also grown into a
small community. We gather each month to celebrate the true,
the good, and the beautiful. All people -- Christian or non-
Christian -- are warmly welcome to join us.
We're also happy to report that our feeding program
partnership has resumed. Free community brunches are on the
menu the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month.

recent session of the monthly event, The Kabod Underground.
