PRESCHOOL
WHERE DID
FrancisEmma's
WORKSHOP WAY
PRESCHOOL go?
The major goal of this Preschool is to be available to those children whose parents
cannot afford the very high cost of early childhood education and school readiness.
This new initiative is not directly sponsored by Belmead on the James, and so "Little
Zion Workshop Way Preschool" is seeking donors who can help. Sponsor a child and
bring that child an opportunity that will enable a famiy who just cannot begin to afford
academic child care. We can only sponsor scholarships for children in need if we have
donors who understand just how important it is that all children have what they need at a
very early age.
Sister Beulah Martin is the Preschool Director. Sister Maureen T. Carroll is the
Administrator/ Fundraiser for Scholarships for Tuition Assistance. Workshop Way
was created by Sister of the Blessed Sacrament, Sr. Grace Pilon. IT IS AN AMAZING WAY
TO SUCCESS IN SCHOOL AND IN LIFE! They really need our help. A full sponsorship is
$5,000. That is what the tuition is for one year. All donations from $10 to $10,000 are most
welcomed so that they can serve poverty level families here in rural Central Virginia.
Do you know about the historical Stovall Family, who settled in Powhatan in 1684. Yes!
Right on Deep Creek where St. Francis de Sales School later grew. Their Family Reunion
gathered there at SFDS in 2014 for their 33oth anniversary. This year they met in
Charleston for 333 years. This is a great family who does not forget where they began!
See their tribute to all of us for the preservation and history and family story! Thank you,
Stovalls!
Mr. William Shearin (pictured above), St. Emma Military Academy, Class of 1967, was the
man with the answers and organizer of the Class Reunion in Atlanta. More than 125
SEMA/SFDS alumni met this summer. What a great reunion, great stories, and
entertainment. The history is still being written.
