The 3 Elements

of a Winning
Industrial
Engineering
Resume
Why having a unique Resume is
important?
If you look at the research, hiring managers and recruiters
spend an average of 6-8 seconds on your resume.
Now, they wont pick up and call you straight to give you an
interview, but its very important to understand that in the
initial interaction between your resume and the hiring
manager, he needs to give a hand-raise which is basically
him saying to himself

I like this person, I better know more

That is why it is so important to get your resume noticed. I

have seen worse, bad, good, best resumes all around.
Resumes of industrial engineers in particular must include
certain key elements in order for it to be impressive.

I want to talk about 3 specific elements which, if placed

strategically, can drastically improve the look of your
resume.
1. Time

Examples
Reduced cycle time from 21 to 12 minutes
Decreased bottleneck from 45 to 15 seconds
Increased load time measurement from 3 to 5
minutes

2. Cost
Examples

Increased revenues from $4K to $9K

Implemented savings of worth $15K
Profits were increased by 15%
3. Process Improvement

Examples

Increased the overall efficiency by 8%

Using six sigma methodologies, increased OEE from 42% to
55%
Reduced rework rate to 7%

The more and more statements you can include which

takes into account the above 3 elements, the more
you stand out and make your profile unique
