This process was developed for introducing soil-mixing
columns under railway tracks: - between sleepers, - through the ballast, without contaminating it.
A tube of 168mm in diameter is lowered down a bore-
hole drilled through the base of the railway track. The column is then installed beneath the tube, using a retrac- table tool. A monitoring system is used to open the tool.
