Date Activities Reflection August 16, 2016 raining Do} ~ Received/Reviewed Kumon Learning Center Packet ~ Leamed the Kumon Grading Method - Practiced the Kumon Grading Method w/old ‘assignments ~ Shadowed the Owner/Supervisor/Manager of Kumon working w/ the Early leamer's ~ Graded the papers of the current Kumen students = Started teaching the Early Learner's = Walk through Parent Orientations - I was very excited and optimistic about my first ‘day of working with the Kumon students ond ‘other employees. A simplistic day turned into being c tumultuous day. This was suppose be just ‘raining day, out instead | ended up having to work because one of the employees called off. When one employee cals off, the whole Kumon ‘operation can get hectic. Although | was just thrown info working without having in depth ‘raining, | was sill able to Gid the students in their ‘assignments, Along with teaching the Kumon students, also had to grade their assignments the Kumon method, Unfortunetely | was not able to get enough practice gracing papers so | was messing up quite a bit. The overall day was long. | ‘come in around 1:00pm and left crounc 7:40pm. {Also when | first came to Kumon forthe "training day" | was asking questions to inform @ of how Kumon operates. | was getting some negative feedback about certain aspects of Kumon, Once Leamed that | was not getting paid! for “training day’, but really work day I wos pretty upset about the situation, Normally jobs that provide training ay for the training days. But in my situation | barely got trained and end yp working. | dont exactly know i | would be getting paid. Student Signatur: DateAugust 31, 2016 Fun Day = Come in and graded papers ~ Team Bonging Normally when Icome into grade the papers know that | am going to get an instant headache Cond be stressed out, When we come in on Thursdoys, it's optionol and we stay fora short Comount of hours. $0 Ihave to get lot grading one in 2 to 3 hous. But this day we were able to efficiently get the graging done, but also learn o lot about one cnother. This was the fist day we were able to relex ond have fun. We talked Bout everything form the type of food we eat tohow | we get our hair done. | was able to open up and for me normally it tokes me some time to get use 0 people. So | was impressed with how social | cond on Iwas being August 19, 2016 Representative from Kumon North America Come... - Went about regular routine + Finishes grading papers ~ Put out the Kumon students vinyls = Organized work stations - Taught the Early Leamer's = Demonstrated the Kumon Method fo the Kumon North America representative + Completed more graging - Chores | was proud of myself this doy because cithough | had only been working for about 2 weeks , the North America representative for Kumon personally told me how great | was ct teaching the Early Learner's. The representative also spoke highly of me to Ms. Haris, It was @ shock to me because Isil fet that | had a lot of improving to o wit my teaching metnods with the Kumon students. | Student Signature DateOverall: Aug 16 31 ‘The Three Weeks... = Organizing Kumon students work area = Grading Kumon student assignments w/the Kumon Method - Putting out the Kumon students viny's ~ Assisting and teaching the Kumon students w/their assignments ~ Puling Kumon assignments Record booking the assignments after grading them ~ Chores faking out the trash My overall experience has been okay. Sometimes I get stressed from the amount of grading that has fo be done. Alo Ihave to exercise a lot go Patience with the kids, which is really hard on Certain days but I manage, Another thing | have concems about is the inconsistency with the pay, artival and dismissal ime to work and certain responsibiles.
