Friendships Fervor

F
riendship is the beautiful avenue of
everyones life! Sometimes, somewhere,
everybody feels a dire need for boy friend
(sometimes boyfriend) or girl friend (sometimes
girlfriend), with whom one can share his/her feelings,
secrets, etc., without any doubts. True. There are
blood relations, too; but those come to you without
your will. Friendship is a different kind of relation; we
choose it and built it. This relations silk-knots may
be tender, but their love-bonds are stronger and
effective. Friendship has no caste, no age bar, any
sex. It is the purest form of emotion; it guides you
when you are misled; it holds you when you are
imbalanced; it takes away darkness from your life
and illuminates new hopes.

So, lets now talk about the celebration of such

important relation of everybodys interest: a
friendships day!

Now-a-days celebrating Friendship Day is more than

rituals. It is gaining much attention and enthusiasm
among aam-janta in the age of Internet, and being
observed more seriously than ever could. To our
surprise, if one would search, there are many days to
celebrate, but friendship day is closest to heart and
most favorable among young generationnext to
Valentines Day. It starts with the beginning of new
semesters and sometimes leads to a serious affair, if
succeeded. So, for many it is a beginning of
something! If not, at least it adds to the ones best
friends listfew remain there till death! In the past
decades or so, there were few opportunities like
these in India especially a friendship day. Only
favorable were the traditional festivals. Though the
festivals used to generate an opportunity to meet
their family and friends, but many, those who used to
stay away from their families, has to go to their
native places. However, least was the chance to
interact with the newcomers, especially boys/girls in
and around your campus, coaching class, or a place
of work, waiting to come in ones life. In retrospect,
traditional rituals acts as threads to knot previously
held relations stronger, and the celebration like
friendship day to knot old and especially new
relationsat least for our beloved younger
generation.

Friendship day is celebrated full heartedly over a

week inside college campuses and work places.
Though there is no fixed date, few say it starts from
first Sunday of August; few say 7th August is the day;
but, recently in 2011, 30th July is declared as an
International Friendship Day. Let it be. Still there is
no unanimity; nevertheless, we consider first Sunday
of August as our friendship day. Again there is no
fixed rule about what a particular day of friendships
week stands for. However, few celebrate it
unanimously over the weeks keeping some
specialty to each day on Junta demands in their
respective campuses. Whenever it may start and
howsoever may be its content, boys-n-gals, it rocks!

The campus takes completely a new look on this or a

day after friendship day. It blossoms with the full-on-
positive energy. Shops get filled, just few days before
the f-day, with the friendships bands, greeting cards,
etc.; and imbued with the groups of boys and girls,
as if like a fair. Discussions on the choice of bands,
color, texture, content, greeting cards, etc., are usual
but interesting to hear and entirely take hike.
Becoming a part of those, unnoticed but stupid, chit-
chats became an idyllic moment of every ones life.
Purchasing SMS plans, especially, for sending SMS on
friendship day took unusual uproar. All surrounding
seems competitive in impressing other friends
though todays social networks (e.g., SMS, Twitter,
Facebook, Orkut, etc.), and wrist bands, greeting
cards, too.

All in all, its a full energy pack. Though, its

celebrated for a day or over a week, it bring charm to
rest of our life. Those feats for making friends
become memories. We come up with many friends;
few stay with you for a limited period, and few lasts
long. Few we considered the best, come up as worst;
and few to whom we never paid attentions, become
the best. Few makes we cry; few make us happy. Few
are girls and few are boys; few make us lucky.
Friendship, friendship is a responsibility. To me, It is
a recurring deposit into others emotional account;
more we deposit more we get it back. Let us deposit
our share of friendship on this friendship day with
thoda fun, thodi responsibility!

Let me be the first to be yours best.
