    This study examined trends in postpartum diabetes screening and subsequent diabetes diagnosis among women in California from 1994 to 2003. The researchers found that rates of postpartum diabetes screening increased over this period, rising from 29.4% in 1994 to 66.1% in 2003. However, the rates of diabetes diagnosis within the first year postpartum remained relatively stable over time, ranging from 1.4% to 1.7% annually.
