THE PARABOLIC SCREEN

Description:
Static parabolic screens nd their origin in the
mining industry for the separation of dry particles.
At present most applications are in solid-liquid
separations of granulates*, bers, organic material
etc.. The separating principle is based on a peeling
mechanism. The wedge wire screen built from proled
metal wire stands at right
angles to the direction of the liquid and the at side of
the wire under a 60 angle.

This results in a separation of the liquid from

the solids, letting the solids slide down by gravity. The
separating efciency is about half the slot width. On the
front side a collector catches the solids. When the solids
are heavy or sticky the separating mechanism can be
assisted by a vibrating motor, spray nozzles and or a brush
mechanism. The complete screen construction is made of SS304.
