Strength Catcher Size: 8 x 10 Medium: Acrylic on canvas
This is a painting of a dream catcher. Dream catchers are crafts of
the Native American People and are made using natural materials. It is hung near the sleeping area because it is believed that it would catch good dreams and bring it to the one sleeping under it. I plan to hang this artwork near my bed like what the Americans do with real dream catchers. The reason why I painted this is to remind me to be brave and fearless. Be brave not before sleeping but be brave in real life because dreams are just series of thoughts, images and sensations occurring in the mind during sleep and anything that happens there wont affect you for real. Being afraid on your own dream is the same as being afraid to face challenges on real life. This is also related to a song entitled Stay Awake and my most favorite lyrics from it is Dreams only last for a night.
